The 27th NIC conference held in Veröld

The 27th Nordic Intercultural Communication 2022 (NIC) conference  was held in Veröld – House of Vigdís 24–26th November 2022. The conference is the main activity supported by the Nordic Network of Intercultural Communication and is held annually in one of the Nordic countries, including the Baltic states. 

Among the topics discussed at the conference were the changing Nordic region, mobility and cultural encounters within the Nordic countries, Nordic identities and identity politics, languages and literature. Keynote presentations, which were open to the public, were given by the author and publisher Halldór Guðmundsson, Jens Allwood, professor emeritus and representative of the NIC association who was also a member years on the advisory board of the Vigdís International Center, and award-winning broadcaster Lesley Riddoch. 

Members of the conference committee were Ann-Sofie Gremaud, associate professor in Danish, Auður Hauksdóttir professor emeritus in Danish, Ingibjörg Ágústsdóttir associate professor in British Literature at the University of Iceland and Kristín Ingvarsdóttir, Assistant Professor in Japanese, all from the University of Iceland. The conference was supported by University's of Iceland's Rector's Office and Centre for Research in the Humanities.
