The Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute for Foreign Languages is a partner in the newly launched project “Educated Roma women, empowered Roma communities!” lead by the Croatian Romani Union “Kali Sara”. The major goal of the project is to contribute to increasing the educational level of young Roma women in all regions of Croatia with a focus on primary and secondary education. Sofiya Zahova, researcher at the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute and author of the UNICEF-commissioned report Research on the Social Norms which Prevent Roma Girls from Access to Education, will oversee the development of the project methodology and will contribute to a policy paper.

The three-year project is funded by the EEA and Norway Grants. More information about the project can be found here (scroll down for English).
