Vigdís International Centre presented at UNESCO event in New York
Sofiya Zahova, researcher and member of the board of the Vigdís International Centre for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding, presented the Centre’s Institutional Plan for the IDIL 2022–2032 at "From global to local: Making the International Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages", which was organised by UNESCO on 26th April 2022 as a side event in the framework of the 21st session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
The event was in a hybrid forum with participants present at the UNESCO office in New York and in Zoom. Participants were particularly excited to hear about the Living Language Lab exhibition and discussed that this is an important achievement and experience that Iceland can share globally with all stakeholders during the International Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022–2032.
